Twin Lakes' LIT Program

The "Leader In Training" (LIT) program is designed for teenagers (ages 13-15). The LIT program is designed to encourage personal growth in Christ, challenge youth to be a Godly leaders in every situation, and teach and prepare youth to minister to and serve others. The outdoor setting provides a backdrop free from distractions for learning basic biblical leadership principles and promoting personal spiritual growth. LIT's are then given opportunities to serve within our traditional camp setting, which provides a deeper understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a counselor and better equips him or her to confidently execute their own responsibilities.

Leaders In Training will be trained to minister to and serve others through Biblical teaching, Bible study and plenty of hands-on experience. Challenge and fun are around every corner: from sessions in Team Building and Community Development on our Low Challenge Ropes Course, where you can tackle the toughest tasks and puzzles as a group, to challenging yourself to push your own limits on our Advanced High Challenge Ropes Course. LITs will get to try all kinds of new skills like swimming (with a blob, enormous slides, and countless other giant toys to mix it up a bit), horseback riding, riflery and archery, rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking and much more. Each individual will be presented valuable leadership lessons through assisting counselors with campers in all areas of camp life - such as helping at activities, helping set-up, serve and clean up all camp meals, as well as various other responsibilities around camp like assisting with each night's exciting programs and snacks.

Please note that the LIT program does involve many responsibilities that require work, while allowing for plenty of fellowship and fun.

The LIT experience begins with meeting the LIT Directors and worshipping with the entire staff on Sunday evening. LIT sessions run from Sunday evening through Saturday for Overnight Camps. Throughout the week the LIT's are responsible for all meals, serve alongside the counselors at activities and help execute the evening programs - all while building relationships that will last a lifetime. It is a unique learning opportunity in biblical leadership training with lessons that will be of value in every walk of life.
